PE Schedule
Students have Physical Education class 3 days out of the 6-day cycle for 30 minutes each class. Please help your student get familiar with his/her schedule so they can be prepared with PE shoes each day. Safer movers are the best movers!
PE Shoes
All students need to wear tennis shoes to PE class. We do not allow sandals, boots, or dress shoes. We want all students to be safe movers!
Good news! Everyone gets to participate in PE class. We have donated shoes for students to borrow no more than 3 times per quarter. If your student borrows three times in the quarter a reminder note will be sent home. The shoes are sprayed with disinfectant spray after each use.
We welcome shoe donations. If you have gently used tennis shoes that you could donate to the PE program that would be great! Velcro shoes are super nice in smaller sizes 10-2. We do need larger shoe sizes (5-7) for our older students as well.
Non-Participation/Medical
Miss 1 PE day= A parent/guardian note will be fine. Please let me know if you have an asthmatic that is having a flare up. We can work out a plan that works best.
Miss 2 or more PE days = A doctor note with instructions is required per district policy.
Notes are to be given to the school nurse. She will give the PE teachers a copy. The note should have the type of restrictions and a return to activity date. Let's keep our students safe, healthy, and following doctor's orders!
Evergreen Expectations in PE
Be Respectful: Listen to the speaker, be kind to all
Be Responsible: Follow the directions, rules
Be Safe: Wear PE tennis shoes, be in control of your body and equipment
PE Communication
To help us communicate with parents and classroom teachers, you may see a PE Communication Note come home. This note is meant to share an area in need of improvement for future success. Please talk with your child about the slip, initial it, and send it back to their PE teacher the next PE day. Thank you!
Students may also receive pine needles as a part of our school-wide PBIS . Please help us celebrate your student's accomplishments in PE class!
