HMS student and classroom expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe!

Respect

• Yourself
• Others
• The Classroom Environment
• Materials/Instruments in the room

Responsible

• Arrive in the classroom on time. Please do not hang out in the hallway blocking traffic. 
• Come prepared for class.  Please bring a pencil and eraser.  We use them for sight-reading and the occasional writing assignment.)
• Follow directions the first time they are given
• No gum, food, or beverage (besides water in a sealed water-bottle)
• Absolutely NO use of cell phones or other electronic devices (calls, texts, internet usage). You get one warning to put it away, and then it is confiscated. 

Safe

• Enter the room in an orderly manner
• Sit in your assigned seat
• Walk around chairs and tables
• Work to the best of your ability in order to achieve your own personal musicianship

Grading and Assignments

• In-class participation
• In-class effort & attitude
• In-class assignments (occasional) 
• Attendance at choir concerts and festivals

Perfomances

Veteran’s Day Program (November), Winter Concert (December), Spring Concert (May).
