During the 8th grade year, American History between mid-1600's through the Civil War is explored.

Specific units to be covered include:

Students interpret and analyze primary and secondary sources during their studies to determine cause and effect of our country's history. A special focus on reading and writing strategies are emphasized. 

8th grade social studies students also complete a National History Day Project.  

The theme for this year is Triumph and Tragedy in History.
