Dear Families,
We have adopted the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework in our district. The vision of PBIS is to promote positive behavior for students. At Prairie View we are dedicated to teaching students behavior expectations that will help them be successful in school and beyond. District wide, all schools have adopted three main behavior expectations: BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, and BE RESPONSIBLE. These school wide expectations are what guides all students and staff in their actions and decision making. At Prairie View these behavior expectations are proactively taught and re-taught throughout the school year, with each lesson focusing on different settings, scenarios and locations in school or on the school bus.
The PBIS mission states....We will hold high behavioral expectations for all by teaching, modeling, and practicing how to be safe, respectful, and responsible. Students' success will be acknowledged and celebrated. Together we can provide a positive learning environment that is welcoming, enjoyable and safe for all of our students, staff, parents, and volunteers.
Thank you for your help!
