Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, or PBIS, is an initiative adopted by the School District of Holmen.
The Holmen Public Preschool Program promotes positive behaviors through "Courteous Critters." Courteous Critters display the following characteristics that we instill in our students throughout the school day in various locations (i.e. classroom; hallway; playground; bus; etc.).
Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Children will be acknowledged for being safe, respectful, and/or responsible through individual bucket fillers and whole group recognition (classroom celebration for filling gum ball machine). When your children bring home bucket fillers, please discuss the reason they received them and praise them! In regards to the whole group recognition, your child's teacher will notify you of the type of classroom celebration they will have once the gumball machine is filled. You can learn more about Courteous Critters (our PBIS initiative) during our PBIS/Literacy Family Event that takes place in the fall.
