Hi, my name is Mrs. Amy Wink, and I am the full time Art Teacher at Prairie View Elementary School.  This is my 28th year of teaching Art in the School District of Holmen.  I live right here in Holmen with my family.  In my free time I enjoy bike riding, gardening, kayaking, talking walks, painting, and spending time with friends and family.  I also have a part time job at Elmaro Winery which is a fun change of pace!

I absolutely love the job that I do..... I enjoy working with my young artists and giving them the opportunity to learn, try new things, express themselves, be creative, and see the pride they take in their work.  Each child and every work of Art created is unique and that's what makes my job so exciting.  It is very rewarding watching my students grow up and progress from their starting point in Art class in Kindergarten all the way through 5th grade. 

At Prairie View, students in grades 1-5 have Art class for 60 minutes (on a 4 day rotation with PE, Music, and LMC).  Kindergarten students have Art class for 30 minutes every other day. We learn about many different styles of art, artists, and cultures...while creating different subjects of art.  Students use their imagination, memory, and observation skills for creating their art.  Students experience a wide variety of art media and techniques; such as drawing, painting, clay, sculpture, fibers, collage, and printmaking.  Each year, knowledge and art skills build upon previous years' experiences.

I hold high expectations for my students and throughout the school year proudly display the work of all students in our building.  I hope when your child's art reaches home, you will display it as well; then save it in a special place.
