Associate Principal & Activities Director - Middle School Email Phone: 608.526.3391 x5414 Twitter: @BenTash10 Hello Viking Families!
My name is Ben Tashner, and I am the new Associate Principal and Activities Director at Holmen Middle School. I am excited to begin working with the students, staff, families, and the wonderful Holmen community.
My wife, Jennifer, and I currently live in La Crosse with our three children, Emerson, Bennett, & Griffin. My wife is a Speech & Language Pathologist at Summit Elementary in La Crosse. As a family, we enjoy being active and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
I am originally from Cuba City, WI where I grew up on a dairy farm. I was active in clubs, organizations, and the fine arts when growing up. I graduated with my undergraduate degree from UW-La Crosse in Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2013, I landed my first teaching position as a Special Education teacher at West Salem Middle School. During my time there, I went back to UW La Crosse to earn a Masters in Educational Leadership with my Administrative license because I knew I wanted to advocate for all students from a school wide perspective. I was in West Salem for eight years, and then transitioned to an Instructional Coach role in Black River Falls for a year. During my teaching career, I was involved with coaching and advising in many areas including cross-country, student council, track & field, and show choir. I know that being involved in extra-curriculars can be beneficial for all students, no matter the activity.
As the school year begins, I look forward to getting to know your child and helping them be as successful as they can during their middle school years. Working together and learning from one another will help us to live out our mission of educating and empowering all students to be successful. I am dedicated to our mission and I look forward to the upcoming school year.
I am proud to be a Holmen Viking!
