Welcome to First Grade where we will create a classroom community committed to each child's social and academic development. I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I have been teaching first grade at Sand Lake since 2003. 

This year, children will be introduced to several different reading and math strategies as they continue  their journey of becoming amazing readers and mathematicians.  Your child's writing will further develop as s/he will be writing and illustrating a variety of books this year as we follow the Lucy Caulkins' Writer's Workshop Program. Several different teaching methods will be implemented to meet  each child's academic and social ability. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
