Hello and welcome to my school website, 

I am Katie Sheppard and I am a Second Grade teacher here at Viking Elementary!  I have been teaching at Viking since 2012. In those years, I began by teaching First Grade, then taught a Second and Third Grade loop, and now back to Second Grade and loving it!

Second Grade is an exciting year as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. My goal for each and every child is to provide them with a positive and loving experience in Second Grade and to guide them as they continue to grow and learn throughout the year.

I graduated from UW-La Crosse with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.  I most recently received my WI Reading Teacher 316 license from Viterbo University.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my amazing family. In my free time, one of my favorite things about living in Wisconsin is the beautiful outdoors that our state has to offer. I have so many interests and hobbies throughout the various seasons.  I am a music concert-goer and lover of golfing, camping, kayaking, and fishing. When the snow falls you can find me hitting the slopes to go snowboarding. I of course am a Green Bay Packers fan too!  

I will end this with one of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou that I keep as a reminder each and every day that I teach, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
