Executive Director of Instructional Services Email Phone: 608.526.6610 x1311 Thank you for the opportunity to serve the students, families, staff, and community of Holmen! Having lived in the area for the greater part of my lifetime, I know the School District of Holmen’s reputation for excellence. To count myself as part of this school district is truly an honor.
I have been in the field of education for over twenty years. I graduated from La Crescent High School in 1991 and began the following fall at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. In 1996 I graduated from UW-L with a major in elementary and middle level education and a minor in special education. My first two years teaching were in Cashton as a “multi-age, multi-subject teacher” where I taught everything from music to language arts in grades K through 8. I also spent a year as a sixth grade teacher at Crucifixion School in La Crescent before being hired by the School District of La Crosse in 2000. I spent the next fourteen years as a Title I reading and math teacher at Spence Elementary and North Woods International Schools. During that time I attended Viterbo University where I earned a Master of Arts in Education and acquired my Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist Licenses. In 2014 I was hired as the District Literacy Specialist for the School District of La Crosse. While enjoying that leadership role with the district, I went back to Viterbo and earned my Principal and Director of Instruction licenses. In the summer of 2017, I was privileged to be hired as the Director of Instructional Services and start my new adventure with the School District of Holmen!
I live with my family on a small hobby farm outside of La Crosse. My husband, Dave, and I have three children at home. My husband keeps busy owning and operating an ice cream and candy shop in La Crosse in addition to coaching track and cross country. Our family loves to spend time together outdoors, going to sporting events, and traveling.
I am committed to fostering positive relationships with the staff, students, family, and community members of this great district! My door is always open, and I welcome your thoughts and ideas. I am greatly looking forward to building relationships, learning more about this wonderful community, and working in partnership to achieve great things for our students!
