District Administrator Email Phone: 608.526.6610 x1301 In being an educator since 1993, I have always had a passion for students and their learning. I have taught for over 15 years as a high school science teacher in the subjects of physical science, chemistry, physics, and AP Physics. I have always enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the students outside of the classroom. I was involved as a senior class advisor with graduation, a junior class advisor with prom, a softball and volleyball coach, a driver’s education instructor and also took students on national field trips.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a double major in chemistry & education, with a math minor. In 1999, I earned a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls in the area of physics teaching, with a thesis on, “Integrating Technology in the Science Classroom.” In 2008, I became a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescence and Young Adult Science. In expanding my leadership skills, I earned my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College in 2013. My belief is that success for student’s starts early, so my doctoral research focused on early education with a dissertation titled, “Examining the Effects of a State Funded 4K Program on Reading Gains and Kindergarten Reading Readiness in a Wisconsin School District.”
After educating students for over 15 years, I had the opportunity to move into a leadership role where I was able to work collaboratively with teachers and other administrators to achieve the common goal of improving student achievement. From 2008 until 2015, I had served in similar administrative roles in two large school districts, each serving over 6,000 students. I was the Instructional Program Manager of Assessment and Accountability for the Sun Prairie Area School District for four years, as well as their High School Principal in the summer for two years. In 2012, I accepted the position of Supervisor of Standards, Assessment and Program Improvement for the School District of La Crosse.
I am dedicated and committed to providing the best educational experiences possible for each and every child in the School District of Holmen. I look forward to being a part of the Holmen Community along with my husband, Keith, and three children.
