Teacher - Physical Education Email Phone: 608.526.9080 Hello! My name is Rhonda Reed. I am so excited to be the PE teacher at Evergreen Elementary again this year! I attended UWL for my undergraduate coursework in physical education, adapted physical education, and coaching. I completed my masters in curriculum and instruction through NAU in Arizona. I have taught junior high, high school and elementary PE in Arizona, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
I started teaching PE in 1997. I live in Holmen with my husband, Jim, and two boys, Dawson and Caden. I love being active! I have ran all kinds of races, including half-marathons and one marathon. I also competed in some sprint tris. I have been challenged with some injuries in recent years so my activities have needed to change. I love to go biking, walking, hiking, kayaking, and lift weights. Our two dogs, Lexie and Leo, are super special to our family. I also like to maintain four bird feeders in my backyard and watch the variety of birds that come to visit. Outside is where I like to be!!
I love teaching physical education! Now, more than ever, we need to encourage our kids to be active. Research has taught us that 1 out of 5 kids are overweight and at risk for health issues. Our new elementary physical education curriculum is up-to-date and so fun to teach. We do not just "throw out the ball." We teach with a purpose. Physical activity needs to be apart of our lives starting at a young age. I aim to help kids want to be active and have fun doing it!
