Teacher - Academic Interventionist Email Phone: 608.526.9080 x2207 Hello families! My name is Shelley Benusa. I have worked at Evergreen Elementary since 2012 and began my career in education in 1995. I get to work with students in grades K-5 with academic needs. This means that I get to provide additional supports that individual students may need in Reading or Math. Prior to coming to Evergreen I worked as a teacher for students with special needs, an assistant principal at a high school, and an elementary level classroom teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in Psychology (1990) and a Master in Education-Professional Development Degree (ME-PD) from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (1993). Winona State is where I completed the coursework for my Principal License (2004), the University of Wisconsin-Stout is where I obtained my Instructional Design Certificate (2015), and Viterbo University is where I completed the coursework for my Reading Teacher License (2018). The following are the licenses I hold from the State of Wisconsin: Reading Teacher (Early Childhood-Adolescence), Administrator-Principal (K-12), Teacher-Elementary/Middle Level Education (1-6), Teacher-Specific Learning Disabilities (PK-9), and Teacher-Emotional Behavior Disabilities (PK-9). I live in Onalaska with my daughter and husband. We are Packer and Badger fans and enjoy outdoor activities like bike riding, playing tennis, taking our dog for walks, and spending time with family and friends.
