Board Policy 657 - GRANTS, GIFTS, CONTRIBUTIONS AND DONATIONS TO SCHOOLS describes the District’s philosophy and approach to acceptance of grants, gifts, contributions and donations.
The policy states
The District Administrator shall maintain and enforce a process that requires school district personnel to assess the budgetary, operational, and instructional impact as well as the functionality prior to accepting grants, gifts, contributions, or donations (see Exhibit “Grants/Gifts Acceptance Form”).
The Grants/Gifts Acceptance Form is to be completed and submitted for approval prior to any implied or formal commitment to accept a grant, gift, contribution or donation.
The form must be completed when a grant, gift, contribution or donation is in excess of $500. It is necessary to know the nature of a grant, gift, contribution or donation to properly evaluate appropriateness of application and acceptance. The form is intended to promote an objective evaluation of a grant, gift, contribution or donation funding.
Resources made available through a grant, gift, contribution or donation can be helpful in the district in reaching its objectives.
The Grants/Gifts Acceptance Form can be submitted electronically or printed and manually populated to best accommodate staff.
