The School District of Holmen (District) accepts payment from parents and community members for a variety of goods and services. One of the generally accepted payment methods is personal checks. Banks and credit unions typically attempt to redeem the check two times before returning the check to the District as a Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) check.
Once the District has received a NSF notice from the bank, the party writing the check will be contacted by the District to arrange for prompt payment of the NSF check amount. If the amount due is not paid promptly, the District imposes a NSF fee. This fee allows the district to recover the business expenses of processing the NSF check and attempts to collect the original payment amount.
If, after attempt(s) are made in writing, the District is unable to make collection on the original check amount and the NSF fee, the account will be submitted to a collection agency. The Payments will need to be in the form of cash, money order, automatic debit or other forms of payment acceptable to the District.
