Out-of-District Professional Development Request Process
All out-of-district professional development requests will go through a District request and approval process. This will apply to all out-of-district professional development requests taking place July 1, 2024 or later.
- As soon as staff are aware of an out-of-district professional development opportunity that aligns with the District’s strategic plan, initiatives, or mandated training, they should discuss the opportunity with their direct supervisor.
- Staff must complete the request form and receive approval at least two months prior to the requested opportunity. Request form does not need to be filled out by custodians, cooks, drivers, maintenance, or business services. Your process for requesting PD will remain the same. Please discuss with your direct supervisor.
- The Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) made up of building principals and District directors meets monthly and will review all out-of-district professional development requests. ILT will be responsible for determining which requests are approved.
- Following the monthly ILT meeting, a member of the Instructional Services Department will contact those that submitted requests, share the team’s determination and any next steps.
