The history in the development of PLCs in Holmen involved a series of events that supported continuous improvement. The teacher's association negotiated monthly early release for professional development, the leadership team researched best practices, and a joint committee of teachers and administrators developed a vision of student learning
MAXIMIZE STUDENT SUCCESS THROUGH TEACHER COLLABORATION
The staff meets monthly during a two-hour early release time by grade level, content area, or program area. Facilitators are identified for each group. These facilitators are trained in three-hour sessions with a focus on planning their agenda, problem-solving issues and challenges with the entire group, and participating in a learning activity.
