Response to Intervention is a framework to ensure all students receive appropriate instructional support. The companion framework (Professional Learning Communities) fosters a team approach with groups of teachers answering four basic, but powerful questions utilizing student work and assessment as the focus of their discussion.
The questions are
-
What do we want each student to learn?
-
How will we know when each student has learned it?
-
How will we respond when a student have not learned it?
-
How will we respond when a student has already know it?
Response to Intervention is a framework that promotes a well-integrated system of providing high quality, standards-based instruction and intervention that is matched to students' academic, social-emotional and behavioral needs.
