The School District of Holmen is asking voters to weigh in on a proposal to provide sustained technology funding across the District in the amount of $450,000 per year for a period of five years.
This referendum question comes about as funds from the 2015 technology referendum expire this summer and the District concludes its process of determining a best path forward for technology.
Because of the School Board's long-range financial planning, the District will be able to accomplish the technology funding with no net increase in the current school property tax rate.
District voters will see the following question on their ballots at the April 2, 2019 election:
Shall the School District of Holmen be allowed to exceed the revenue limit specified in § 121.91, Wis. Stats., by up to $450,000 per year commencing with the 2019-2020 school year and continuing through the 2023-2024 school year on a non-recurring basis for the purpose of modernizing and maintaining a capable technology infrastructure, and providing information technology services and devices across the District?
We have published several pages here to inform voters about this referendum, what led to the referendum, and the scope of expenses this referendum could cover. See the links to the left to peruse this information.
